Augst AFWA Des Moines Chapter meets at various restaurants in the Metro on the third Tuesday of the month. Join us for networking, lunch and CPE programs. Members and guests can RSVP online with the form below or by e-mail to desmoinesafwa@gmail.com


Board meetings are open to the membership and are typically held the Friday before our membership meetings.  If you are planning to attend and would like to order lunch, please contact us at desmoinesafwa@gmail.com.  Someone from the board will contact you with details. 


September CPE Meeting with Ames 
 
Date: Wednesday, September 16th
 
Location: Kirkendall Public Library, 1210 NW Prairie Ridge Drive, Ankeny, (Large Meeting Room)
 
Cost: $15 Members, $10 First Time Guest Non-Members, $20 Recurring Non-Members (Payment in the form of cash or check will be due at the event)
 
Time: 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Kristy Maitre from the Iowa State Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation (CALT) will be speaking on a tax topic. 

We look forward to seeing you there!! This meeting will qualify for 1 hour of CPE.

 Upcoming Member Meetings

October - Networking Meeting with Ames October 21st 5:00 - 7:30 pm; Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad, 225 10th St, Boone. To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Ames Chapter, they are having a Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad Dinner! 

Check-in is at 5:00 pm and everyone will board at 5:15 pm. The train will depart promptly at 5:30 pm and gets back around 7:30. 

Dress: Business casual.

Cost: $50 each (This is for AFWA members and one guest) Non-members the cost is $60 each.

Meal choices: Prime Rib; Roast Pork Loin; Chicken Marsala; Salmon Steak; Five Cheese Lasagna.  More meal information can be found at http://amesafwa.org.

Wine: You may bring one bottle of wine per couple.  No other alcohol is allowed on the train.

Payment must be received by September 18, 2015, by check payable to Ames AFWA. No refunds will be made for cancellations after September 18.

Space is limited to 80 people.  Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority for chapter members.

November CPE Meeting Tuesday, November 17th 11:30am - 1:00pm; Urbandale Golf & Country Club 4000 86th St, Urbandale. Cynthia Sippel will be presenting on Critical Concepts in Your Career:  Networking, Mentoring and Don't Burn Your Bridges

December Basket Raffle Tuesday, December 15th 11:30am - 1:00pm; TBD. Basket raffle to raise money for our Scholarship Fund.
